- Quality Control & Testing for Carbon Fiber Car Parts
Tested Like an OEM Part. Inspected Before Every Shipment.
New designs are validated through up to 15 environmental, mechanical and fitment tests — UV aging, thermal cycling, stone chip, salt spray and more. Every production order then passes a documented outgoing inspection, and the QC report ships with your parts.
What Every New Design Has to Survive
Before a new part goes into production, samples go through a validation plan built on automotive OEM test specifications. These are the tests that answer the questions buyers actually ask: Will it fade in the sun? Survive winter? Hold up behind the wheels?
| Test | Standard / Condition | Pass Criteria |
|---|---|---|
| Environmental Durability | ||
| Xenon / UV aging | DIN EN ISO 16474-2, up to 1,500 h simulated sunlight | No fading or chalking — discoloration grade 4–5 |
| Thermal cycling | Repeated −40 °C ↔ 90 °C hot/cold alternation | No cracking, delamination or adhesive failure |
| High-temperature storage | 90 °C ± 2 °C for 60 h | No distortion, discoloration or bond failure |
| Damp heat | 47 °C, 96% RH for 96 h | No blistering, whitening or adhesive failure |
| Water & rain resistance | Immersion and spray exposure | No bond failure, no surface change |
| Salt spray corrosion | Salt fog chamber, parts with metal inserts or brackets | No corrosion on part or hardware |
| High-pressure water jet | Car-wash jet simulation | No coating damage, no fading |
| Mechanical & Coating | ||
| Stone chip impact | DIN EN ISO 20567-1 at 2 bar | Coating free of cracks and fractures |
| Low-temperature impact | −40 °C × 4 h, then 500 g steel ball drop from 800 mm | No fracture, crack or breakage |
| Cross-cut adhesion | ISO 2409 / GB/T 9286 | Paint adhesion Level 1 |
| Chemical resistance | Acid, alkali and fuel exposure (0.05 mol/L H₂SO₄ and more) | No discoloration, softening or swelling |
| Cleaner resistance | Glass cleaner immersion | No fading or surface change |
| Scalpel cut test | Raw carbon edge inspection | Clean edge, no fiber pull-out |
| Fitment & Dimensional | ||
| Fitment validation | CMM measurement + vision system + on-vehicle trial fit | All mounting points within tolerance on the exact model and trim |
Photos above are from actual validation runs on our OEM carbon fiber programs. Full third-party laboratory test reports are available on request during project discussion. Running an OEM program? Send us your specification — we validate to customer test plans, including DIN / ISO-based OEM requirements. See OEM, ODM & Private Label.
How We Make Sure It Actually Fits
Fitment is where aftermarket carbon parts usually fail — so we verify it three independent ways before any batch ships.
CMM Coordinate Measuring
Dimensional inspection of parts and molds on a coordinate measuring machine — geometry, hole positions and tolerances are measured, not eyeballed.
Vision Measurement System
Non-contact optical measurement for edges, mounting holes and surface features — fast enough to inspect every part in batch production, not just samples.
On-Vehicle Trial Fit
Parts are trial-fitted against the exact vehicle model and trim. Every mounting position is checked and marked — for one recent front lip, 12 mounting positions were verified before approval.
Every part number has a Standard Operation Procedure on file: mold data, hole map, accessory list and inspection standard — so the 500th piece is built and checked exactly like the first.
Written Standards, Not “Looks Fine to Me”
Surface quality is judged against documented acceptance criteria — with the part divided into zones, and each zone held to its own standard.
Zone-Based Inspection
Every part is divided into Zone A (visible face), Zone B (side edges) and Zone C (assembly surfaces). Defect limits — scratches, black spots, fiber breaks, glue marks — are defined per zone down to 0.1 mm, so inspectors apply the same standard on every shift.
Two Tiers: OEM and Aftermarket
OEM-program parts are inspected to the stricter OEM appearance standard; aftermarket parts follow our standard aftermarket specification. Both are written documents our QC team works from daily — and both are available for your review before you order.
Every Order Ships With a QC Inspection Report
Before packing, our QC team inspects your order against a written checklist and stamps the report. Here is a real example — customer details removed.
What Your Report Covers
- Surface finish — smooth, UV-protected, no white dots or air bubbles
- Accessories — glue tape, screws and hardware counted and verified
- Mounting holes — drilled and checked against the hole map
- Fitment test — confirmed against the target vehicle
- Shipping mark — labeling and packaging verified
- Inspector, date and pass result — signed off per order
OEM-Level Credibility, Independently Verified
Anyone can claim quality. Here is what stands behind ours.
Certified Systems
IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified quality management, with CE certification for applicable products.
OEM-Audited Factory
Passed an on-site supplier audit by BYD in 2023 — covering development capability, production and quality systems for carbon fiber products.
Third-Party Lab Tested
Our OEM carbon parts have passed full environmental test programs — heat, cold, humidity, stone chip, weathering, chemicals — at a national vehicle testing institute. Reports available on request.
In-House Test Lab
Xenon aging chamber, constant temperature & humidity chambers, salt spray chamber, tensile and fatigue testers, CMM and vision measurement — testing happens here, not outsourced.
Quality & Testing Questions, Answered
Do I get a QC report with my order?
Yes. Every order passes a documented outgoing inspection before packing — surface finish, accessories, mounting holes, fitment and packaging — and the stamped QC report is available with your shipment. Full third-party laboratory test reports from validation programs can be shared on request during project discussion.
How do you test parts against sun, rain and temperature?
Exterior parts are validated through xenon/UV aging up to 1,500 hours (DIN EN ISO 16474-2), thermal cycling between −40 °C and 90 °C, damp heat at 47 °C and 96% RH, water immersion, salt spray and high-pressure water jet tests — the same environmental test categories used in OEM programs.
How do you validate fitment before production?
Three ways: CMM coordinate measurement of parts and molds, a vision measurement system for edges and hole positions in batch production, and on-vehicle trial fitting against the exact model and trim. Every mounting position is verified before a design is approved for production.
What appearance standard do you inspect to?
Written zone-based standards: each part is divided into a visible face (Zone A), side edges (Zone B) and assembly surfaces (Zone C), with defect limits defined per zone down to 0.1 mm. OEM-program parts follow the stricter OEM appearance standard; aftermarket parts follow our aftermarket specification. Both documents are available for review before you order.
Can you test to our own OEM specification?
Yes. For OEM programs we build the validation plan from your specification — including DIN and ISO-based OEM test requirements — and execute it in our in-house lab or through a certified third-party institute where required.
What certifications and audits back this up?
We are IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified, CE certified for applicable products, and passed an on-site supplier audit by BYD in 2023. OEM carbon parts from our factory have passed full third-party environmental test programs at a national vehicle testing institute.
