Most of our parts are designed so you can install them yourself — no body shop needed. With 3M automotive tape, the screws included in your package, and about an hour of patience, you can fit a spoiler, front lip, or side skirts in your own garage.
As the manufacturer, we test-fit every part before it ships. This guide shares the same installation logic our engineers use, so your part goes on straight, stays on, and looks factory-installed.
Before You Start: Tools & Prep
What you need
The three rules of prep
01/ Clean the surface.
Wash the mounting area, then wipe with alcohol to remove wax, grease, and dust. Tape will not bond to a dirty or waxed surface — this is the number one cause of parts falling off.
02/ Test fit first.
Hold the part in place without removing any tape backing. Check the gaps on both sides and mark alignment points with painter’s tape.
03/ Check the temperature.
3M tape bonds best above 15 °C (59 °F). In cold weather, warm the surface and the tape with a hair dryer first.
The Two Mounting Methods
Method 1: 3M Tape (Spoilers, Mirror Covers, Trim)
Best for lighter parts and anywhere you don’t want to drill.
- Test fit and mark alignment with painter’s tape
- Clean the surface with alcohol and let it dry
- Peel the tape backing — touch the adhesive as little as possible
- Align using your marks, then press firmly from the center outward to push out air
- Hold pressure for 30–60 seconds per section
Important: let the tape cure. Avoid car washes, rain, and high speeds for at least 24–72 hours. For trunk spoilers, don’t open the trunk for 24 hours.
Method 2: 3M Tape + Self-Tapping Screws (Front Lips, Side Skirts, Diffusers)
For parts that face wind load and road debris, tape plus screws is the standard combination — tape seals and positions, screws carry the load.
- Test fit, mark alignment, clean the surface
- Peel the tape backing and press the part into position
- Drive the supplied self-tapping screws through the pre-marked points, starting from the center and working outward to keep both sides even
- Do not overtighten — snug is enough. Overtightening can crack carbon fiber around the hole
Most screws go into the plastic bumper or rocker panel underneath the car, so they are invisible once installed.

First time? Start with an easy part like mirror covers to build confidence, then move to the bigger pieces. Full replacement parts (like some diffusers and hoods) are the ones where a professional shop is worth the money.
The 5 Mistakes That Ruin Installations
- Skipping the alcohol wipe — tape fails on waxed or dusty surfaces
- Peeling all the backing at once — peel section by section to keep alignment
- Not test fitting — once tape touches paint, repositioning gets hard
- Overtightening screws — cracks the carbon around mounting holes
- Washing or driving fast too soon — tape needs 24–72 hours to reach full strength
