20PCS

Why We Recommend Ordering 20 Pieces

Making 20 pieces in one run — and shipping them together — costs far less per piece than making one or two. The labor and the freight get shared across the whole batch. That’s why 20 pcs is where you hit the lowest unit price, on in-stock parts and custom orders alike. And you can mix different parts and models in the same batch.

MOQ isn’t fixed for every part — it depends on size, process and packing. Send us your part list and we’ll put together the best price plan for it.

What Affects the Price of a Carbon Fiber Seats?

There’s no mystery in seat pricing — a handful of things decide the number. Know them, and you’ll plan a better order. You’ll also see exactly why our factory price sits so far below retail.

Street or Track? Two Builds, Two Prices

Most of what we make for seats is the carbon shell: seat back covers for factory sport seats, and full shells for bucket builds. The shell can be built for the street or for the track. Both are fine. But they are built differently, and they are priced differently.

Street Grade

Seat Back Shells and Covers

Carbon back shells that dress up factory sport seats — the look you see from the rear seats and in photos. Wet carbon or dry carbon, gloss finish, clips or adhesive fit. No load rating needed, because the factory seat frame still does the work.

$120–$450 / pair
Track Grade

Full Bucket Shells

Load-bearing bucket shells with harness slots and side-mount points. Here the carbon IS the structure, so the layup is thicker, the mounts are reinforced, and the shell has to pass flex and impact checks. Dry carbon pre-preg is standard at this grade.

$400–$1,000 / shell
Carbon fiber seat back shell on a street sport seat next to a full carbon racing bucket seat in a track car

Why the gap? Four reasons:

  1. Structure vs decoration. A back cover decorates a seat that already works. A bucket shell holds the driver. The layup schedule, the resin system and the QC are different jobs.
  2. The mounts. Bucket shells take side mounts and harness loads. Those zones get metal inserts and extra layers, all hand work, all inspected.
  3. Material. A track shell in pre-preg costs 2 to 3 times more in material alone, and the autoclave cycle for a shell this size is hours.
  4. Testing. A shell that will see harness load gets flex and pull checks before it ships. A cover gets a visual check. Guess which one costs more to release.

One honest note: a carbon back cover on a factory seat gives you 90% of the look for a fraction of the price, and it keeps the factory airbag and rails working. A full bucket is for cars with harnesses and roll bars. If your car has neither, buy the covers. For reference, race seat brands like Corbeau list fixed-back buckets at $430 to $1,400 (checked October 2026) — and that is before brackets and rails.

Not sure which build you need? Tell us the seat model (or the car, for covers) and your target quantity. We quote the right build.

Carbon Fiber Seats Prices by Vehicle Model

Prices move with the car. Here’s what popular models go for at retail — and what the same seat costs factory-direct from JC AUTOCARBON:

For context: Corbeau lists fixed-back racing seats at $429 to $1,399 retail, and FIA-rated buckets from brands like OMP and Sparco run $500 to $930 — before brackets, sliders and rails (checked October 2026). Our shells and covers follow the same logic: structure costs more than decoration.

These are real seat parts from our catalog — mostly back shells and covers for factory sport seats. Every part page carries live photos with size and weight data. Full bucket shells are built to order, so tell us the mount type you need.

Total Cost: More Than the Part Price

The price of the part itself isn’t the whole bill. When you plan a seat order, budget for the full landing cost:

Cost ItemTypical RangeNotes
The seat itself$300–$1,000 / pc factory-direct20-pc batch = lowest unit price
Installation$100–$250Per seat, rails & airbag plug handling
Rails / brackets$50–$150Model-specific, per side
Freight & import dutiesVaries by countryDuties & VAT depend on the destination — ask us for a DDP quote

Two rules of thumb from our side of the table:

  1. Back covers are a DIY job. Full buckets need side mounts, sliders and sometimes a harness bar — budget a shop and a proper install, this is safety hardware.
  2. Never mix a track shell with street hardware. Harness slots need a real harness and bar. Tell us the full setup before we price the shell.

How JC AUTOCARBON keeps this number down: in-stock parts ship from our US / EU warehouses — no surprise import duties, no 6-week wait on the water, no long haul that can damage the part. For batches we ship by sea on DDP terms — the number we quote is the number you pay.

Two Real Quote Examples

Price lists are useful. Real quotes are better. Here are two typical orders, broken down line by line, so you can see where every dollar goes.

Example A · Street Grade, Existing Mold

A UK styling shop orders 20 seat back shell pairs for the BMW G82 M4 factory sport seat.

Example B · Track Grade, Built to Order

A JP race team orders 6 full bucket shells, side-mount, dry carbon, with 5-point harness slots.

Dry carbon pre-preg build+$180 / shell (about +35%)Pre-preg costs 2–3x, shell-size autoclave cycles take hours

Inspection on carbon fiber seat back shells at the JC AUTOCARBON factory

Always included, never charged: existing mold use ($0 tooling fee), standard gloss finish, clip hardware on covers, a pre-shipment check with photos, and foam plus corner protection on every box.

Real Carbon Fiber vs Vinyl Wrap

A carbon-look vinyl wrap runs $200–$600 installed — about a tenth of a real carbon seat. If you only want the look, that’s a fair choice: it lasts around 5 years and peels off anytime.

But a wrap adds zero performance. A real carbon fiber seat cuts real weight, adds real stiffness, and holds its value when you sell the car. Looks only? A wrap is enough. Want the strength and the weight saving? That only comes from real carbon.

What a Cheap Seat Really Costs You

Two parts can look identical in a photo and behave completely differently on the car. Low prices usually come from three shortcuts:

Weak Layup

A weak shell flexes — you feel it in every corner.

Inaccurate Molds

Rails don’t line up; the brackets need rework.

No Stress Testing

In a crash, an untested shell is the last thing you want.

A cheap seat can end up costing more: returns, refunds, weeks of delay, body-shop rework — and if you resell, damage to your own name.

Three Tips to Get the Lowest Factory Price

  1. Pick an existing mold when one fits — no tooling fee at all
  2. Order a mixed 20-pc batch — that’s the lowest unit-price tier
  3. Ship from our overseas warehouse or by sea — freight is where the big savings hide

Carbon Fiber Seats Pricing FAQ

Yes — you pay for the mold once. After that, every repeat order is just unit cost, and lead times get shorter too.

You do, if you funded it. We can also sign an exclusivity agreement, so the design is never offered to other buyers.

Yes. Prototypes and samples start at 1 piece. A sample costs more per piece than a batch, but part of it comes off your first production order.

At 20 pieces, production, labor and freight spread out best — that’s where the unit price bottoms out. You can mix different parts and models in one batch. MOQ isn’t the same for every part, though — send us your list and we’ll work out the best plan for your quantity.

Retail has layers: distributor margin, brand markup, local stock cost. At JC AUTOCARBON you buy from the factory that makes the part — no layers in between. The same seat that retails at $600–$2,500 leaves our factory at $300–$1,000.

Selected bucket models are available with FIA homologation for racing use. Street versions skip certification to keep the price lower. Tell us your use case and we will quote the right version.

Seat swaps take 1–2 hours per seat with the right rails — shops charge $100–$250 including airbag-plug handling. Rails and brackets run $50–$150 per side if you don’t have them.

Orders shipped from our US / EU warehouses are already imported — no extra duties for you. Factory batch orders can ship DDP: duties and taxes are included in our quote, so the number we give you is the number you pay.

EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP. In-stock parts ship from our US / EU overseas warehouses; custom and molded orders ship from the factory by sea, air or express.

For street cars with factory sport seats, back covers — the carbon look, factory airbag and rails keep working, lowest price. For track cars with harnesses and a roll bar, a full bucket shell with reinforced mounts. Tell us the setup and we quote the right build.

No. Our track shells are built and tested for club racing and track days, but they are not FIA homologated. If your series requires an FIA label, buy a homologated seat from a race brand — and we are happy to build the carbon back covers for your street car instead.
